DEVELOPEMENT FOR CLUCKSHOT HAS STARTED!
What is Cluckshot?
Cluckshot is an upcoming Roblox asymmetrical game based around the idea of a chicken finding a cannon, loading it's eggs in it, and causing chaos in the city in the process! I know that the concept sounds absurd, but any sensation starts with a crazy idea! The game will be based off of other Roblox asymetrical games in it's overall idea and gameplay loop, but with a more goofy theme with less horror elements, as well as odd physics and unique mechanics. Some of these may include absurd recoil with certain chicken weapons, a character with a crazy caffeine addiction, or the unique parkour system never seen before in Roblox asym games! That parkour system in question is what we will be talking about today!
The Movement System
One of Cluckshot's main gimmicks will be it's unique parkour system. It's intended to make the asymmetrical gameplay loop feel less dry and repetitive, and more special each time you play each time. This Parkour system will have several features such as...
Running
The player will be able to trigger a runstate by holding shift while moving forward. This will simply let the player move at a faster walkspeed and evade the chicken easier. However, there is no stamina system associated with it.
Vaulting
The player will be able to vault over low objects such as small fences, ledges, handrails, boxes, and more! This vaulting motion will be triggered simply by running into them to keep a constant, action-packed gameplay loop. Vaulting will simply bring the player up and over the object involuntarily.
Sliding
Sliding will allow the player to travel under gaps not normally passable by simply walking. Sliding will be triggered by the player at any time while pressing the control key, but it may interrupt other parkour actions. The player will also be able to bounce off the ground by sliding just before they hit it to maintain some height when jumping from high places.
Wall-running
The player will be able to wall-run across certain surfaces, namely billboards. Wall-running will be triggered when running parallel to a wall, which will let the player cross normally impassable gaps easily. The player will also be able to eject from walls when wall-running by pressing the space key. This feature is intended to let the players stay high up on buildings without going down to keep the fast-paced element in the gameplay loop.
Climbing
Climbing is probably the most important move that the player can do in parkour, as it lets them, travel up and down buildings with ease. When activating by running up to a wall and jumping against it in the air, the player will be launched up in two grabs and fall back down after. However, if they manage to reach a ledge, the player will hang on it and stay put until choosing to vent over it or to drop down.
